CLLD Funding

IN NOVEMBER 2022 WE WE WERE THE LUCKY RECIPIENTS OF A GRANT FROM THE CLLD COMMUNITY FUND…

…….HERE’S WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO WITH IT

We’re incredibly grateful to CLLD for a grant awarded in November 2022. This grant has allowed us to grow our business and has provided us with the resources and materials to provide 2 part-time jobs to women in our local area. The guidance and support offered throughout the grant application process was exceptional, and we have thrived since receiving the new equipment needed to grow our CIC.

Thanks to a 15 additional robots and iPads we’re able to be in two places at once, and deliver larger workshops. This has increased revenue, outreach and impact from our CIC.

In the 6 months since receiving the funding we have:

  • hosted a family Christmas STEM day with a wide range of activities alongside GCHQ Bude

  • Worked with Girl Guides Cornwall for their annual STEM day in February

  • Hosted FIRST LEGO League, and supported schools and community teams in the lead up to the event with mentoring and coaching. On the day our iPads came in very handy for teams who had run out of juice, or simply needed another device.

  • run hundreds of hours of content using LEGO Spike Essential and Coding Express

  • designed the educational content for National Armed Forces day based on the use of our LEGO Spike Essential kits for Cornwall Council

Our two members of staff have enjoyed plenty of overtime above and beyond the funding output thanks to an incredibly busy Spring Term, and we’re looking forward to seeing where our business goes from here.
